CSA NO PICKUP Thur Jan 11 or Friday 12 see you Thursday 18th Friday 19th

Posted 1/4/2018 7:24am by Jill Rendleman.

Members will be enjoying wonderful fresh local mushrooms this week, along with some great garlic to go along.....not so pretty garlic, but great tasting!  Also the lovely leaf lettuce which is doing so well in the high tunnels and some great new carrots with tops.  We save the tops for salads or soups, remember they are organic and they are a very interesting addition to your diet!  Our hens love them so they must be good.  We are struggling with the cold blast, even opening doors has been a problem, but yesterday it was 66 inside the lettuce house...for several hours while the sun was out.  Biggest challenge now is getting water to the plants inside the tunnels, we have to put hoses up each night and hope they don't freeze again.

NO PICKUP next week. See you on the 18th and 19th!

This is what we do with the extras we have put in freezer over summer/fall.   Yumm......
